Today, June 16, starts Reading District summer festival, organized by the European University School of Arts and Cultural Heritage and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of EUSP. The festival will last for 5 weeks and will turn Liteiny Avenue and its surroundings into a single literary space: the university, museums, bookstores, galleries and gastronomic spaces will become stops along the route to the points of attraction of modern book culture.
More than 15 events are planned as part of the festival, where participants will be able to learn everything about the life of the book: from the author's idea to readers' feedback. The festival will be opened by a writing laboratory with Max of Naples, which will take place in Third Place today at 6:00pm.
Today you can also join the presentation of Maya Kucherskaya's book “The Masquerade Incident”, and on June 19 (the nearest one), join the public talk “The Secret and the Public: Diary as a Literary Genre” with the participation of Mikhail Melnichenko and Ekaterina Larionova. Both events will be held in Subscriptions.
What else is going to happen?
Lectures by specialists in the field of socio-cultural studies of literature, reading groups in the Third Place courtyard and the Saray Gallery, a series of thematic screenings dedicated to the complex and diverse intersections of literature and film art at the Out cinema, as well as thematic cocktails at the district's famous bars: Terminal, Luch, Zaliv, Brimborium and Flowers.
The events take place within a walking circle 1.5 km from the European University, where science meets culture, and guests can not only immerse themselves in the world of literature, but also learn about EUSP's educational programs.
