Vera Yarilina
curator of children's and family programs. Researcher at the Sachsenhausen Museum and Memorial
The course was a breath of fresh air. First of all, due to the community and the opportunity to discuss complex topics that arise at work. I suddenly realized that supervision is needed not only for psychotherapists, but also for museum curators. It was very useful to complete my professional puzzle with sections that I had never encountered before — storage and restoration first of all. And we must admit that the word “Hermitage” in a certificate of advanced training evokes more associations among colleagues from foreign museums than any Russian university. Which is what I'm using right now.
Studying on a course requires a lot of effort, concentration, and energy. In the process, it seems that you don't even have time to learn even half of it, but in the coming years this time will be remembered as one of the best. Perhaps the most interesting thing happens on the sidelines: acquaintances, conversations, new connections, contacts, new friends! You find yourself in one information field that is structured, and what is unnecessary is quickly discarded because it has no place and time. A lot of professionals teach the course; they share their work experience and practices — this develops advanced viewing. This is a busy student time that will inspire you.
Veronika Abashina
Head of the Multimedia and Exhibition Sector at the Multimedia Center of the Russian Museum
I am very happy that I decided to take this course a year ago. It allowed me not only to learn a lot of new things, but also to streamline my existing knowledge and experience. Many years of work at a museum sometimes makes you a specialist in a very narrow field, and the course helped me expand my understanding of museum reality and look into areas that I had not interacted with before. After that, I began to better understand my colleagues from other services and departments. Now it's easier for me to find a common language with them and I hope this will definitely affect the results of our work. I would also like to thank the authors of the course for creating a very friendly and comfortable environment.
Elena Volkova
Head of the Exhibition Design (Design) Department of the Russian Museum
Course very informative, well-designed, covers all aspects of museum work. The teachers are true professionals and enthusiastic people. It was a great time that brought a lot of new knowledge and impressions, the joy of meeting interesting people, and the opportunity to get behind the scenes at the Hermitage. I got new acquaintances and personal connections that I hope to keep and use in future projects. Many thanks to my teachers and dear classmates for the atmosphere of creativity, friendliness and trust that supported me for nine months. It was an unforgettable experience!
